Mission and Purpose

In 1995, William Louey established the William S.D. Louey Educational Foundation, named in honor of his grandfather. The foundation's primary mission is to offer scholarships to exceptional students from underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue world-class education opportunities abroad.

The William SD Louey Educational Foundation offers financial assistance and provides mentorship and guidance throughout the scholars' academic and professional development, ensuring success. William Louey is a dynamic Hong Kong businessman. The fourth generation heir of Hong Kong’s oldest transportation company, he has a lifelong passion for philanthropy based on the principles of the pay it forward philosophy of giving.

William Louey founded the William S.D. Louey Educational Foundation in 1995, named after his late grandfather William Sui-Tak Louey. This was set up to help academically gifted children from poor socioeconomic backgrounds gain access to world class education abroad.

Today, William Louey has given away more than HKD $60 million to fund 60 scholars. Aside from the funding, William Louey has dedicated his personal time and attention to provide his scholars with valuable mentorship and guidance.
